Our latest selection of resin driveway installations
Resin bound stone surfaces are a popular choice for driveways, patios, and pathways, offering a durable, permeable, and aesthetically pleasing finish.
While traditional methods involve laying the resin bound mix directly onto a suitable sub-base, incorporating a fibreglass matting system, as we have on some of these installations, can significantly enhance the strength and longevity of your installation, especially in areas prone to movement or stress.
Why Use Fibreglass Matting?
Fibreglass matting, also known as glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) matting, acts as a reinforcing layer, providing several key benefits:
Increased Strength and Flexibility: It distributes stress and prevents cracking, particularly on substrates that may experience movement or thermal expansion.
Enhanced Stability: It creates a more stable and robust surface, reducing the risk of deformation.
Improved Waterproofing: It can act as a barrier against moisture ingress, protecting the sub-base and prolonging the lifespan of the resin bound surface.
Bridge Cracks: It helps to bridge existing cracks in the sub-base, preventing them from propagating through the resin bound layer.
